Letters were read from Mr Evans and St Matthew's Scout ? and Scout Secretary.
Mr Evans wrote about the payment of the mortgage on the Parish Hall due to him next December.
Mr Dunderdale moved and Mr Hyde seconded that the matter of arranging about the payment of the mortgage be left in the hands of Mr C E Major with power to act.
Dr Hosking moved and Mr Hale seconded that referring to the letter about the removal of the gas meter? the matter be left in the hands of the Parish Hall Committee also matters in connection with the Amateur Theatrical Society and the entrance gate to the old Parish Hall.
Revd Bullock proposed and Mr Hale seconded and it was carried THAT the action of the Building Committee accepting Messrs judd & Russell's tender for the additions to St Matthew's Church be confirmed.

Mr Sydney Smith asked what amount had been sanctioned by a Meeting of Parishioners to spend on the additions. On the minutes being looked up it was found that the amount of the tender accepted was greater than the amount sanctioned.
Dr Hosking then moved, Sydney Smith seconded and it was carried: THAT a special meeting of parishioners be called by the Vicar after due notice has been given, to confirm the action of the Vestry in the matter of the Clergy Vestry and the Side Chapel.
The financial statement as appearing on page 708 was adopted and the accounts appearing thereon were passed for payment, except the account of C H Spiers for 38/10/- for painting the Taueru Church, with regard to which the work had to be passed by Mr ?
Mr C H Spiers' offer to paint the doors of the Parish Hall was accepted with thanks, subject to the colour being the same as the present church doors.
Mr C E Major read some correspondence that had taken place between himself and the solicitors of Messrs Stevenson and Messrs Ferguson account for repairs in 1926 to the engine of St Matthew's Church organ came to £48 odd. This amount was considered excessive and after considerable correspondence and opinions from local engineers were obtained a sum of £25 was offered (subject to the approval of the Vestry) by Mr Major in payment of the debt. This offer was refused and legal proceedings threatened.
Mr Maunsell moved and Mr Dunderdale seconded and it was carried THAT Mr Major be asked to to file? the case on principle on behalf of the Vestry and that Dr A Hosking, who has given his consent, accept the summons if necessary on behalf of the Vestry.
