The minutes of the Vestry meeting held on Thursday, March 1st were read and confirmed.
A letter was received from the Australasian Performing Rights Association concerning the public performance of copyright music in the Parish Hall.
It was resolved that the letter "be received".
The Tennis Club Secretary wrote desiring that the oak and pine trees on the far court be removed. In reply Mr Hale moved and Mr Hyde seconded that the letter be left in abeyance for the incoming vestry to deal with.
The Financial Statement as appearing on page 703 was adopted and accounts appearing thereon passed for payment.
Mr McLevie [new curate] who was present was accorded a welcome by the vestry.
The Vicar moved and Mr Smith seconded that a sum of £25 be transferred from the Curate Fund to the Parish Account by way of bearing a share of the cost of running the Parish Car. Carried.
The Vicar moved and Mr Hale seconded That a sum of £8 be transferred from the Fernridge Sunday School Fund to the Curate Fund. Carried.
Mr Hale moved and Mr Penistone seconded that the services of Mr Keith Harper be retained for a further 12 months at a salary of £100. Carried.
It was resolved that the interest due on the Parish Hall mortgage be paid from the Parish account.
It was resolved that the action of the Vicar and the Wardens in authorising Mr Major to employ an expert to examine the organ engine repairs effected by [gap - probably Stevenson & Ferguson] in dispute be confirmed.
Messrs Hyde and Ninnes were appointed to take up the offertories for April.
