A very pretty wedding of considerable interest was solemnised last Saturday evening at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton. The contracting parties were Miss Gwendolene Maud Scott, elder daughter of Mrs M. Scott, Worksop Road, and the late Mr T. V. Scott, of Masterton (late of Havelock (Marlborough), and Mr Maurice G. Jamieson, second son of the late Mr and Mrs R. A. Jamieson, of Wanganui.
The Rev. E. J. Rich officiated, and Mr Miller-Hope presided at the organ.
The bride...was given away by her cousin, Mr Francis Scott, of Wellington...
Miss Ily Scott (chief), sister of the bride, and Miss Zola Jamieson, sister of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaids...
The duties of best man and groomsman were capably carried out by Mr Ken Jamieson (brother of the bridegroom) and Mr Bert Costello, of Wanganui, respectively.
A reception was afterwards held at the Masonic Hall, where Mrs Scott received over one hundred guests...
The beautiful three-tier wedding cake was the gift of Mr L. Arnold, of Wanganui...
They later left by car on an extensive tour of the north...Their future home will be in Wanganui.
