WHITE-BEETHAM.

A wedding of widespread interest was solemnised at St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternoon between Margaret Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Beetham, "Towcett," Perry Street, Masterton, and Walton White, only son of Mr. Frank White and the late Mrs. White, "Eastry," Eketahuna. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. J. Rich, vicar of St. Matthew's. The Church was beautifully decorated with autumn leaves, chrysanthemums, and Iceland poppies by friends of the bride, under, the supervision of Miss Una James.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming gown of magnolia satin cut on graceful lines, with cowl neckline, slashed sleeves fitting from the elbows, and a long train. Her tulle veil was caught with a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of carnations and roses in tones of pink.

The bride was attended by four bridesmaids, Misses Vida Rutherford (chief), Ruth White (sister of the bridegroom), and Aila and Nora Beetham (sisters of the bride). Ana Beetham (cousin of the bride) made a pretty flower girl, and Bill Beetham (brother of the bride) was page boy. The bridesmaids wore similar frocks of magnolia net with spiral flounces falling away to full trains. They wore gold lame girdles and gold haloes. The

flower girl was frocked in the same style and colour as the bridesmaids. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ralph Bunny as best man, and the groomsmen were Messrs. T. Lowes, L. White, and N. Beetham. The ushers were Messrs. A.Wardell, N. Blundell, J. Knight and A. Buchanan. A reception was later held at "Towcett," the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Trevor Beetham received the guests wearing a handsome frock of brown lace and georgette with coat to match and a brown felt hat with plaited gold band. She carried a bouquet of autumn flowers. Among the 400 guests present were the grandparents of the bride, Mrs. N. Beetham, wearing black charmeuse, silk and lace, and Mrs. S. Bolton (Pahiatua), who wore black velvet. Mr. and Mrs. White left later for the north, the bride wearing a navy blue frock with scarlet buttons and a navy coat. Her hat was of navy and she carried a scarlet purse. Their future home will be at "Eastry," Eketahuna. The guests were entertained at a most enjoyable dance held in the Parish Hall in the evening.
